Welcome to Friends of South Gulf Cove (FoSGC). This website was created to keep our friends and neighbors informed about changes that may affect our community, homes, and way of life. Our community was developed as a waterfront and boating community and we strive to keep it that way.

Many requests were received at the initial Townhall meeting asking for information via e-mail for those who are not Facebook users. This is your opportunity to send and receive messages with questions and concerns. We did our best to interpret as many email addresses as possible, but we did not capture 100% as some were ineligible. Please feel free to send the link below to SGC friends and neighbors to be included.

The potential rezoning of land to our North will create the Harbor Village Development by Maronda Homes. By doing this it has the potential to disturb our environmental buffer zones as well as interfere with endangered wildlife. The impact of these changes will redirect what was once deemed perpetual environmentally sensitive land and allow 100+ waterfront homes with boat dock to be constructed along the Interceptor waterway leading from the lagoon to the lock. This is unacceptable and has become one of our contested topics that we are trying to prevent by the decision of the Charlotte County Boad of Commissioners. Their decision will affect over 15,000 homes and platted parcels in the communities of SGC, Harbor West, Harbor East, and Holiday Lakes.
